I love pumpkin spice lattes. So definitely had to jump on the opportunity to do a PSL themed book tag this month!
This tag was part of Bookending Autumn and this prompt was hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads.
- Link back to the original post (hint, it’s this one!)
- Thank the person who tagged you
- Do the prompts below
- Tag some friends
- Most importantly – have fun!
1. Pumpkin Spice Latte: A book you didn’t think you’d love
I don’t pick up books I don’t think I’ll like, but I definitely wasn’t expecting to love Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand as much as I did!
2. Hot Apple Cider: A book that got you a bit hot under the collar
Honestly anything by this author! Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey was next level smutty and I was living for it.
3. Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate: A book that felt like a warm hug
Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell was so precious and cozy. It’s also the most perfect autumnal read ever.
4. Maple Pecan Latte: A book you enjoyed that was hard to get into
I really ended up enjoying Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco but it definitely was a little slow to begin with. I’m glad I pushed through though because the next book was so good!!
5. London Fog: A vanilla character
Alex from How to Hack a Heartbreak by Kristin Rockaway… In my review I listed “works as a hatchling” as his only characteristic – because he had absolutely no personality.
6. Hot Buttered Rum: A book that was velvety smooth to read
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow not only has some of my favorite writing of 2019 but of all time. This book is absolutely beautiful inside and out.
7. Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew: A character whose temperament is icy cold
This is probably a bit of a copout answer but Joshua from The Hating Game by Sally Throne. He is icy in the steamiest way possible *fans self*
8. Salted Caramel Mocha: A book that you’re salty about
I just finished Bossy Nights by Liv Morris a couple days ago and I’m still salty about how much it disappointed me. I was looking for a steamy, office romance and this was none of that. She only worked at the office for like the final 10% of the book and their “forbidden romance” was reconciled in a couple pages. Boo.
9. Honey Bee Latte: A character who is sweet
Georgette from Fix Her up by Tessa Bailey is the first character to come to mind. She is literally a children’s party clown.
10. Gingerbread Latte: A character you’d take home for Christmas
Foster from A Pizza My Heart by Tessa Bailey. I love him and would take him anywhere 😅
If you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!!
